Hat Pattern – test version

I finished the Hat that I spun the yarn for in my recent post Spinning By the Pool – Yarn That Is!

As you can see, I only needed a small bit of it. I plan to offer this pattern, but it has a lot of kinks I need to work out 1st. I’m not happy with the decreases. I thought I would try something different. It made a weird shape on the crown. It’s going to block out, but I would prefer it to lay smooth to begin with. I also think it’s a bit big. See how it looks lumpy on the head form? That should lay smooth as well…

This one is done in all Hand Spun Yarn. I will re do it with commercially available yarn before I share it with everyone. I’m thinking Cascade 220…

I have some other projects to do 1st, and I need to pick up some more yarn, (or dye some of the white I already have) but I promise I’ll get it done. So keep an eye out over the next few weeks for a new pattern!

Oooooh! I really like the sheep all around the hat …
also the bright blue/tourquoise on the tope of the hat …
reminds me of a snowflake and also what I might see in a kaleidoscope!
    Wonderful creative ideas, Dona!
