Knitting Gauge Tip!

The other day I was riding with some friends on our way to a spinning group. I was in the back seat starting a new knitting project. Only problem was, I needed to check my gauge. Naturally I had nothing with me. No ruler, no sheet of 8 1/2 x 11″ paper… nothing.

I was unprepared.

Well, I’ve never let that stopp me before. I was unwilling to give up an hours drive time full of knitting.

Well guess what – I looked it up.

A US Quarter measures .955″. Close enough for me!

This one has a gauge of 5 stitches to the inch.

I was able to determine my gauge and begin my new project!

From now on there will be a Quarter in all my knitting bags!
