Christmas time means sweet time!
Here’s a really easy candy that you can make this year that your family will love. I think it makes a nice refreshing break from the traditional cookie too. It’s pretty too!
Here’s the ingredients:
2 cups Granulated Sugar
1 cup Water
3/4 cup Corn Syrup
1/2 tsp Flavor Oil or Extract
Line a cookie sheet with foil and dust with powdered sugar.
Heat sugar, corn syrup and water in a heavy sauce pan. Stir to dissolve. Using the Candy Thermometer to monitor the heat, bring it to a boiling temp of 300-310.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the flavor and color. Pour the hot candy into the prepared pan. Allow it to cool completely before and breaking into pieces.
I got a bit heavy on my coloring here. This is Lemon Flavor.
For this one I used a combination of peppermint and mint. Perfect!
And of course this is flavored with Cinnamon Oil.
Store in sealed container for super long shelf life.
