Last night we decided to give the Chicago Steak Company a test. As you may recall my husband ordered some of their meat right before Christmas.
I thought it might be nice to play them up a bit with some Mushrooms and Onions on top. You know, restaurant style! I’m cutting back on the carbs a bit after the holidays, so I wanted to make something kind of special to take our mind off the lack of potato or bread.
I heated up a bit of Olive Oil in a pan and added 2 cloves of Garlic, some sliced Mushrooms and a sliced Onion.
I sauteed them until tender and added some pepper and about 1/4 cup Red Wine and simmered for a few minutes to burn off the alcohol taste.
Not only were the steaks good, but the topper was delicious. I don’t know why I don’t just take a couple minutes to do that more often. My husband agreed. And he never even asked where the potato was!
